Our application is designed for the Oil & Gas sector, where security and efficient information management are fundamental aspects. Due to the critical nature of the data handled, it is essential to ensure its confidentiality, integrity and availability. To this end, strict access controls have been implemented, limiting the information that each user can access based on their role within the system.
In addition, the application uses large-scale language models (LLMs) for various tasks, such as operating the chatbot and generating embeddings, optimizing semantic search and data interaction.
Initially, we relied exclusively on cloud services such as OpenAI, which offered ease of implementation but came with query costs and third-party dependencies.
Currently, we have integrated local models managed with Ollama, which allows us to operate without query costs and have greater control over data processing, although it requires an infrastructure with sufficient computing capacity.
One of the key features of the application is the ability to define role descriptions for users, allowing the chatbot to adapt its responses based on each person’s context and responsibilities. This not only improves the user experience, but also optimizes information retrieval within the system.
